Tom Babinszki Speaks at the Center for Health Literacy Conference 2010
Director of Even Grounds, a provider of accessibility consulting services, was invited to attend the Center for Health Literacy Conference 2010. This event was held on July 29 to 30, 2010 at the MAXIMUS Center for Health Literacy, Alexandria, VA. Tom Babinszki, owner and director of Even Grounds, was chosen as one of the speakers in the conference.
About the Conference
Having the theme “Plain Talk in Complex Times”, the conference gathered researchers, clinicians, cross-cultural and linguistics experts, and program leaders to share best practices in clear communication. The conference’s agenda included topics on social media, eHealth, accessibility, and graphic design.
The conference also aimed to help attendees evaluate the communication strategy of their company or organization. Through the event, participants were expected to identify readability and usability barriers in their strategies and create programs to remove those barriers.
Mr. Babinszki led the panel discussion entitled “Living with Disabilities in the Web 2.0 Era”. He was joined by Glenda Watson Hyatt, blogger and author of “I’ll Do It Myself”. Mr. Babinszki’s discussion focused on the challenges and issues faced by persons with disabilities in accessing the Internet.
