Julius of Even Grounds Presents in Wellington Web Design Meetup
Julius Charles Serrano, research director and accessibility consultant at Even Grounds, made a presentation at the recently concluded Wellington Web Design Meetup. This event was held on August 5, 2010 in Wellington, New Zealand.
The Wellington Web Design Meetup is a monthly gathering of industry professionals for talks, case studies, design/technology insights, networking and socializing.
Web Accessibility Presentation by Julius
Julius’ presentation was entitled Web Accessibility for Blind and Visually Impaired Persons. Julius discussed what web accessibility and accessible web sites mean to persons who are blind. He provided a short demonstration of how a blind person uses the Internet through a screen. Julius also explained the most common accessibility issues faced by blind and visually impaired Internet users. After the presentation, Julius answered the questions raised by the group. Jason Kiss, owner of AccessibleCulture.org, also gave a presentation on web accessibility.
Julius is very thankful to the organizers of the meetup for giving him the opportunity to do a web accessibility presentation, and he expresses his willingness to help the participants in making their web sites accessible.
