Even Grounds Has Been Invited to a Web Accessibility Workshop in Sabah, Malaysia
Even Grounds, an accessibility consulting company based in Alexandria, Va, has been invited to conduct a web accessibility seminar in Sabah, Malaysia. This is the first of two web accessibility events to be conducted by the company this month.
About the Presentation by Even Grounds
On the first day of the workshop, the participants will learn about screen readers, a popular form of assistive technology that enables persons with disabilities to use the Internet. This discussion will be provided by Julius Charles Serrano, Research Director of Even Grounds, and a participant in one of the company’s previous web accessibility workshops.
On the second day, Mr. Tom Babinszki, Director of Even Grounds, will talk about disabilities and the effects of accessible websites to the lives of the disabled. Serrano will continue the discussion by providing additional details about web accessibility and a discussion about WCAG 2.0.
About the Web Accessibility Seminar
This workshop focuses on techniques which web developers should use to make their websites more accessible to persons with disabilities. It is a product of the collaboration of three organizations in Malaysia.
The Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri (Sabah), or the Sabah State Department of Computer Services provides the venue for the workshop. The Sabah Society for the Blind carries out all necessary arrangements for the participants and the equipment. The National Council for the Blind, Malaysia is responsible for sending and coordinating with the speakers in the workshop.
This workshop will be held at Makmal Komputer INSAN, Kota Kinabalu, from January 18 to 21, 2010. Around 30 web developers from various organizations and companies will attend this event.
