Technology cited for rise in 'Braille illiteracy'
Technology has made lives easier, but one area where it hasn't always helped is the world of the blind, the Journal Sentinel of Milwaukee
reports.
Fewer than 10% off the 1.3 million legally blind people in America can read Braille, according to a report issued last year by the
National Federation of the Blind, the paper said. One reason for what the newspaper calls "Braille illiteracy" is that both audio and Braille are widely available.
