Colleges cautioned about e-book readers' accessibility

As e-book technology becomes more commonplace on college campuses, the U.S. Justice and Education departments raised concerns Tuesday that some
universities are using devices that don't meet accessibility standards set by the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.

"It is unacceptable for universities to use emerging technology without insisting that this technology be accessible to all students," the departments said
in a joint letter to college presidents.

Exactly, before allowing any technology to emerge you should always take care that it can be easily accessed by all.Though Ebooks are nice for common students with no accessibility problem because you can carry some thousands of books with you anywhere in your laptop or cell phones but the welfare of all the students should be given a thought too.
