Alexandria, Va., December 16, 2008 - Even Grounds, a leading provider of accessibility consulting and services, announced today that company has received Alexandria’s 2008 Disability Awareness Award for its efforts in helping local businesses meet the needs of people with disabilities.

On October 30, 2008, the first web designers conference was conducted by the Philippine Web Designers Organization. This event was held at the Orient Square Building in Pasig City, Philippines. Julius Charles Serrano represented Even Grounds at this conference. The Philippine Web Designers Organization is a group that focuses on bringing together institutions and companies supporting various standards related to web design.

Even Grounds, an accessibility consulting company, is further developing its research in the field of accessibility. This move aims to provide the public with free information relevant to accessibility and the technologies related to it. In addition, it aims to give a wider set of services to the company’s current and prospective clients.

On October 10, 2008 the Washington DC Chapter of the Project Management Institute organizes its annual career day. The event offers a series of educational lectures and networking opportunities. Even Grounds will be present showcasing accessibility solutions.

As a means of providing continuous support to South East Asian advocates of web accessibility, Even Grounds has recently set up a forum where the said individuals can post questions and address issues regarding web accessibility.

On June 6, 2008, a pioneer web accessibility course was concluded at the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB). This course was conducted by Even Grounds, an accessibility consulting company based in the Washington DC area. The course was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Overbrook-Nippon Network on Educational Technology (ON-NET).

Even Grounds launches an accessibility news service, making it easier for policy makers to navigate among legislations and regulations. The service has a global focus, covering anything around the world from which decision makers can benefit.

Even Grounds, an accessibility consulting company based in Washington DC, was invited to attend this year’s UN-GAID (United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development) Annual Meeting and Global Forum. This UN conference was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center from May 18 to 20, 2008.

A group of visually impaired people in Southeast Asia are participating in a web accessibility course, sponsored by the Overbrook-Nippon Network on Educational Technology. Even Grounds, a Washington DC based accessibility company is conducting a 12 week online course followed by a one week intensive training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The owner of Even Grounds, Tom Babinszki joins the Steering Committee of G3ICT. G3ict, the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies, is a public-private partnership dedicated to facilitating the implementation around the world of the Digital Accessibility Agenda defined by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
